Attorney advertising disclosure

Last updated 2026-05-13.

Pursuant to the advertising rules of the State Bar of California (Cal Bar Rules 7.1 and 7.5), this page identifies the practice, the admitted attorney, the scope of practice, and the limits of this website as advertising material.

1. Nature of this communication

This website is attorney-advertising material under Cal Bar Rule 7.1. Nothing on it is legal advice for your specific case. Past results do not predict future outcomes. No statement on this site should be construed as a guarantee of a particular adjudication result.

2. The practice — Chernoff Legal Services

Legal services on this website are provided by Chernoff Legal Services, a California sole proprietorship operated by Frederick Chernoff under the trade name “Chernoff Legal Services.” The trade name is used in compliance with Cal Bar Rule 7.5 (firm names and trade names). Chernoff Legal Services is not a corporation, professional limited liability company (PLLC), or other separate legal entity; it is a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Frederick Chernoff personally.

3. Jurisdiction of practice

Frederick Chernoff is admitted to the State Bar of California (bar number 342412) and admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, and the California Court of Appeals.

4. Scope of practice

Chernoff Legal Services practices only in U.S. federal immigration law — specifically, the preparation and filing of Form I-192 and related nonimmigrant waivers before U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Frederick Chernoff does not advise on non-immigration state law, taxation, real estate, family law, criminal defense, employment, or any other matter outside U.S. federal immigration practice. Chernoff Legal Services does not hold itself out as qualified to provide legal advice on Canadian law.

5. Attorney-client relationship

No attorney-client relationship is formed by your use of this website, by submitting any form or request for information, by sending an email, or by making any payment, until a written engagement agreement is signed by Frederick Chernoff. Until that engagement agreement is signed, communications you send through this site are not protected by the attorney-client privilege.

6. No outcome guarantee

CBP's Admissibility Review Office decides Form I-192 waivers at its discretion under Matter of Hranka (15 I&N Dec. 207 (BIA 1975)) and applicable regulations. No lawyer can promise a specific adjudication outcome. Nothing on this site should be read as a promise or guarantee of a particular result.
